New Approaches for California's DMV

The Business Leaders Pro-Bono Committee serving the California Secretary of Business, Transportation, and Housing provided an opportunity for Miralto to contribute to the decision-making processes of the committee. The Secretary assigned Miralto to provide input on a portfolio of departmental performance assessments with a deep dive into the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
 
One of the challenges for the DMV is the prolonged wait time for customers. After close inspection by Miralto, we concluded that the DMV might not need to expand the facility or staffing to improve the experience of the customer. Instead, they could redeploy resources toward an online and kiosk-based delivery system, eliminating the need to wait in line at a DMV office.
